Hearing of Bridget's traumatic evening with Chris repairs Steve and Miranda's relationship as they work to comfort her and encourage her to go to the police. But Bridget's too frightened and disappears to clear her head. Eventually she comes round but the police arrive beforehand to question her. Rather than clear her name, flustered Bredget makes matters worse, propelling protective Steve to make a rash decision to save his daughter by confessing to a crime he didn't commit.

Paul refuses to believe Rebecca is the blackmailer but when he receives another demand, he wonders if it's time to face facts.
