Neighbours Source
How did you land the part of Elle?
Pippa: Well obviously I had to go through an audition process. I've been acting for about seven or eight years now. This is sort of my first full time role. Everyone has to audition for Neighbours. It's a gruelling, long audition!

When you first started were you nervous about meeting everyone? Did you watch the show before?
Pippa: Of course I watched the show! I grew up watching Neighbours. I absolutely was nervous about my first day on set. I was hugely starstruck about meeting all of these actors that I've been watching all my life growing up. And I was also just nervous about coming into the show and working with an established cast. I remember the first scene I ever did I was sitting in the make-up chair and Ryan Moloney came in. I was like "oh my gosh, oh my gosh. That's Toadie from Neighbours" and I had to really pull myself together. That's a little embarrassing actually!

Elle is quite evil. Are you anything like her?
Pippa: No! Pippa is very removed from Elle but I absolutely love the character. I love the role. I don't even think that she's that evil. I think she's misunderstood. Any evil action she does take, she can justify it somehow, which is always fun to play.

What's coming up for Elle?
Pippa: Well you'll be able to see some interesting dance moves from Elle. She thinks she's quite a top dancer. I'll let you be the judge of how good she is. So watch out for that. And well into next year you can expect another Robinson to come on to the show which is very exciting too.

Is it fun playing the villain's daughter?
Pippa: Absolutely! I love being Paul Robinson's daughter. It's very exciting. And of course my father's got so many enemies on the street, poor Elle had to come in to the street and really defend herself to everyone and say "You know, I'm not as evil as my dad. Give me a chance!" But yeah, it's heaps of fun. Heaps of fun!
Graham from Hemel Hempstead: What's it like working with a big star like Stefan Dennis?
Pippa: He is amazing. I love him. I play his daughter but I also call him Dad! I feel like I am his daughter although I think he would be very offended to hear that because he has very young children.

What was it like filming the plane crash?

Pippa: Exciting. Really, really exciting. The shots where we were in the Bass Strait in the water were filmed in a studio in a pool. When it was all blacked out and they just had the smoke over the water and they had a wave machine, it gave you the feeling of really being out there. I mean, it was dark. You couldn't see anything, there was just a little bit of light that was simulating moonlight, and it was very easy to get into that real frightening sort of fear that you would have out there. I loved it. It was exciting. I got very tired being in the water all that time. I probably spent about four hours in the water so I swallowed a lot of gross pool water. And I did get sick after it for a little bit but I'm OK now! But it was fantastic. I love it. It was very exciting.

How have you dealt with the fame that comes with playing Elle?
Pippa: It's really exciting. I'm so proud to work on the show. Like I said, I love my character and I love the cast and crew. It's really fun meeting the fans who enjoy watching the show. So it's good. It's fun. It's really cool.

Who do you think is hot out of the Neighbours cast?
Pippa: I would definitely have to say a boy from No. 30, from the House of Trouser. Toadie! My favourite. I love him. Yep, he's definitely the hottest. Hot and sweaty!

Who do you hang out with from the cast?

Pippa: Everyone, because we're working Monday to Friday, all day, every day together. We get along like a family. Most of these people I see more than I do my own family! We're all really great friends. For example, last weekend Nat Bassingthwaite (Izzy Hoyland) had a girls' night. We all went around to her place. We went out for dinner to a Lebanese restaurant and did belly dancing and just had a really crazy time. Then we went back to her place and stayed up all night playing Pictionary. Which I won. Well, I came equal with Carla Bonner (Steph Hoyland). She'd kill me if I didn't add that part in! Yay. I love Pictionary.

What age did you start acting? And what/who inspired you?

Pippa: I started acting about seven years ago seriously. I just started doing some drama classes. I was a very shy person so I did drama sort of as a way of meeting new people and just as a fun, challenging thing to do. The love for it grew and then I got a bit ambitious and more and more ambitious and I wanted to build a career out of it. And the people that inspire me? Probably the teachers that I've learnt from. I studied here in Melbourne. So yeah, my teachers and other classmates. You do so much learning off the person that you're working with in a workshop environment so the people that I've surrounded myself with in a class environment are my inspiration.

What are your favourite hobbies and interests?

Pippa: I love summertime so I love just being with friends at the beach. I love camping. I LOVE camping. And I grew up with horses so I love horseriding. I've got a horse that I got when I was twelve. He's a great big thoroughbred. He's a bit fat at the moment actually. He's called Easy. So yeah, just hanging out with friends.

Has anyone told you that you look like a young Nicole Kidman? Are you related? Do you hope to build a film career like hers?
Pippa: I love anyone that tells me I look like Nicole Kidman. I'm a huge fan. I trust any movie that she's made. I'd go and see anything because I think she's a brilliant actress. I think she's made a wonderful career for herself, she's made some great choices. Yeah, I'd love to follow in her footsteps.

That's come to the end of my questions so thank you all very much for sending those in. It's been heaps of fun and make sure you check out the website to get updated on all the Neighbours goss. Bye!
